The Pennfield Colony was formed by a group of Revolutionary War-era British loyalists who emigrated from the Philadelphia area to Beaver Harbour, New Brunswick in 1783, led by Joshua Knight of Abington, Pa. The area was also called Penn's Field Colony, Pennfield Colony, Bellevu, or Belleview. New Brunswick was at that time part of the colony of Nova Scotia.
